Americans use the US dollar ($).
There are 100 cents in a dollar and you will find the following coins in your change:
- 1 cent (penny)
- 5 cents (nickel)
- 10 cents (dime)
- 25 cents (quarter)
The notes or bills (which are all green and all the same size) which you will be using are in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100. There is a different president's face on each denomination, if you're interested.
