Everyone has a TV (actually I do know a family in Silicon Valley who does not have one, but they are definitely in the minority!) and most people have some sort of cable plan.

Depending on how many channels you want, you will have to pay a monthly fee for that service. If you don't have a cable service, you will still get some free to air channels, but the reception may not be great.

There is no TV tax but you therefore will be inundated with commercials on every channel. To circumvent this and to replace the video recorder, many people have turned to Tivo which allows you to record whatever you like without commercials!

Your TV Guide is in your local newspaper and you of course can find your favorite TV programs on the Internet.
